Misikko Hair Care Review

As a hair stylist, I am always looking for new products to try to protect my hair from the heat of my flat iron. If you've heard of Misikko, you know they have high quality flat irons and other awesome hair products!

Just like they gift wrap their flat irons so beautiful, when I recieve their products, they gift wrapped the hair products just as beautiful! I was very impressed. I was going to take a picture of how beautiful it looked, but my Monsters beat me to it and took everything out of the box before I had the chance!

I did get to review Chi and Shield Shine. They are both equally GREAT for your hair and skin! They both provide a lot of shine!

Here's my hair before ANY product was in there:

After I used the products

When I used the Shine Shield, it added shine and I could really tell that it protected my hair because my hair didn't feel dry and damaged. This prodcut is good for those with fine/medium textured hair, I feel, because it didn't weigh my hair down.

I liked them equal well, but for my textured hair, the CHI worked better for me because I am mixed racially so I do have that African American textured hair mixed with Caucasian. The CHI weighed my hair down just enough to no fly-away, but didn't leave my hair greasy either!

If you use a flat iron like me, you really do need protectant from the heat! It will prevent split ends and damage!

Because of my type of hair and scalp, I only wash my hair once a week to avoid overdryness of my scalp and hair. Mine are extremely dry so I don't want to dry them out more than necessary. Eventhough I was that infrequent, the CHI and Shine Shield DON'T make my hair greasy at all!

I knew there was a reason for not having any money in my paypal account when I do these Featured Estian Mondays. It's because there are some great shops out there and this one just takes my breath away. I don't think I've ever appreciated photos of buildings until I saw her photographs...they are absolutely beautiful!...

Metro Line 6 Photography is so amazing...it makes me want to visint those places and see the exact same things she captured!

Where are you from? Tell us about yourself!

I am a 28 year old stay at home mom/whenever I get the time photographer. I have 2 great kids, my son is 2 1/2 and my daughter is 1 1/2. They are only 11 months apart so for now they are the best of friends.

I am originally from Columbus, Ohio but have traveled around quite a bit since graduating college in '05. My husband and I have been bouncing around between DC and Paris for about 5 years and now our family is semi permanently in DC but Paris is always calling!

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?

In Paris, le Metro Ligne 6 was the closest line to our apartment. I have so many fond memories of my life there and so much of my work is inspired by or taken in France that I thought it would be appropriate to incorporate my shop name into that experience.

Hmmmm?, why did I start my business? Ya know, I don't think I have a really good answer for that. I guess I was looking for a hobby or a little side project. I didn't know how much work it would take to keep myself out there. But it has been very fun!

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?

It would probably be interior design. I really love to decorate and organize. My specialty is making things look beautiful on a budget. I am really into glass jars right now, I have been using them all over my house as vases, to infuse oils, as candle holders, they even make fun picture displays!

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

I get my inspiration from ordinary things. I like to capture the little things in every day life. I am drawn to lines and architecture also.

My favorite item? It's probably a series of photos taken in the South of France. A lot of my photos are edited to really make shadows and colors pop but with my prints from the South of France that is pretty much just what it looks like there....beautiful. One of my favorites of those is the "Vespa Scooter" print. I love this print because someone drove that red scooter to work that morning and leaned it right against the red and green wall and probably never thought of the beauty in it. It was just part of that persons daily routine. That is what I love to capture.

I've contemplated a lot with this idea. I don't want to do it, but I feel like I have to. It's too much and well I don't think this blog is as successful as I liked it to be and I should stop while I am ahead.

I've had a lot of things on my plate, it's a good thing, but I feel it's only fair to let you all know why this blog has kind of taken a back burner and I haven't been posting very much on it at all.

I don't know why I'm sad. It's not like I'm going to be leaving the blogging world! I hate being defeated and quitting something. I guess that's what being in sports my whole school career has done! Lol

I'm finishing up my obligations (reviews, giveaways, etc...) here for the month and then I'm going to be done blogging on this blog on October 1, 2010.

Where am I going? I'll still be posting on my Nomie's 3 Monsters blog. I will be doing reviews and giveaways there, but not as often as I was on here.

Every woman is beautiful and gorgeous and I hope that my ideas, hard work and LOVE put into each and every piece of jewelry that I make will help them to achieve this in a special way through my creations.

Everyone starts off differently! I got started in the designing business by accident. I got inspired by all the other crafters and artists while shopping and browsing through the internet. When I saw their creations on their websites and in their shops, I thought to myself how beautiful their creations are and how nice if I could create some of these myself. That train of thought ended with the determination to make my own beautiful creations!

I stumbled upon Etsy by accident to begin with, but ended up being the best accident because AllureByU was born!

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?
It would be sewing because I can design and make all kind of apparels that I like to wear.

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
All the things around me inspire me. I love nature and life. I love new exciting ideas and trying them. I do not like sticking to the same old concepts. Thus I use all kinds of themes and all kinds of different materials in my creations. I love to get inspirations from all of them. Sometimes something seemingly boring, when combine with another material, will create a beautiful piece. Let your creativity juices flow.

I love every single piece of my creations because they are created with lots of love, efforts and time. However, I am extremely proud to share this piece because it's a first try at a more complex project and one that I spent many hours at wire wrapping.

When I had my first child I was only 20 years old. I ~~knew~~ nothing about sign language. When I had to go to work, I put Madison is DayCare. Around the age of 9 months, she was signing. They taught her to sign and I thought it was amazing how well she could communicate. Of course, I had to learn myself to understand her. Three kids later, they don't go to DayCare and I still think signing is important. I have taught my younger two to sign words. My youngest, Morgan, can talk, but she still signs most of the time. It really does lessen the whining and they're so proud (their eyes just light up!) that YOU know what they want even though they can't clearly say it. It makes for a happy baby!

Baby sign language can help with post-partum depression
The bonding aspects of baby signing cannot be underestimated. But post-partum depression can begin at any time, even during the second year. Many early-years programs teach Baby Sign Language to moms and babies to help build communication and trust.

My name is Heather, from Long Beach CA. I was born & raised in Southern California, so I tend to have very eclectic tastes. I'm a mom to 3 young kids, a wife, longtime crafter, volunteer of 24 years, & wedding assistant & office manager.

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?
My mom actually came up with the name, from my middle name Brianne. My "business" started about 18 years ago on the playground of my private school. I wanted to help my mom with tuition so I sold crafts and gifts every Friday on campus. Our store has evolved tremendously! About a year ago, I wanted to start donating more, making a bigger impact. But I wasn't working at the time. One day I realized I really could make money selling my crafts and supplies! In 2010 alone, we've donated over $700! We hope to hit $1000 by New Year's Eve!

If you had timed to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?
I'd say quilting. I love all of the details that go into quilts. Or papermaking, since I love writing!

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
My kids are my big motivation. While my two boys do have health problems, all three are generally healthy and happy. One of my mom's friends has a trisomy baby, a beautiful little miracle baby. She inspires me to do a lot of volunteer work specifically for children's charities. Another inspiration is my day job. Recently we launched "Brianne's Bridal Basics". We work with clients to create party favors, and 25 cents to $1 is donated to the charity of their choice.

My current favorites are my crochet hair flowers and my beanies. They're all fun, cute, and interesting, and include that handmade touch.

I grew up on a farm in Iowa with two older brothers and taught myself how to crochet, embroider, latch-hook, and macrame (yes, it was the 70's) to fend off bordom. After earning a B.S. degree from ISU, I moved to St Paul, MN and worked as a virologist/microbiologist.

I met my hubby at ISU, but we didn't date until after he returned from the Peace Corps. We have been married almost 15 years and have two kids. After our oldest was born we moved to Columbia, MO because we wanted to raise our family in a smaller town. I have been fortunate enough to be a SAHM for the past 8 1/2 years, and am now entering a new phase in my life since both of our kids are in school. Now if I only knew what I wanted to be when I grow up.....

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?
My husband came up with my shop name. We were brainstorming after a few drinks one night and he came up with "crazy momma" then that morphed into "loco momma". LocoMOmomma is sort of a play on a regional term "BOCOMO" which is short for Boone County, MO.

I have always enjoyed creating things with my hands and began making amigurumi toys after our first child was born. As a paranoid first-time mom, I was exceedingly careful that my toys were baby-safe (NO plastic eyes, felt pieces, buttons, etc. to worry about baby choking on). I have continued this practice even now that my kids are beyond the choking age.

Frog Rattles

Several years ago I stumbled upon 100% organic colorgrown cotton yarn at my local yarn shop. Immediately a light went on in my mommy-frazzled brain--crocheted baby toys! Stuff them with natural materials and-- viola!--the perfect combination to make my toys as safe as I can for babies! No worries over what chemicals your precious baby is ingesting every time they suck on these soft teething toys!! Since then the availability of organic cotton yarn has grown, giving me more variety and colors available for my shop items. Creating items for my Etsy shop has given me a creative outlet as well as a sense of self-worth--overall a very rewarding experience!

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?
Quilting, especially Crazy Quilting! I drool over the old fashioned crazy quilts at antique stores. Perhaps someday I'll have time.....

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

Definitely other Etsians, especially moms. Also, seeing all the cheap plastic toys from China that break after kids play with them for two days...not to mention plastic takes a kajillion years to break down in a landfill! I ABHOR plastic.

My favorite item in my shop are Clutchies because I have never seen anything like it on the market. Clutchies are an attachment system that keeps your baby's toys close at hand and are made from 100% organic cotton with NO metal or plastic pieces! It's every eco-friendly mama's dream! No more toys/pacifiers going overboard onto the germy public restroom floors. No more lost pacifiers or loveys!

Clutchy and Ring Set

The beauty of Clutchies is in their design. They are crocheted with a double layer of 100% organic cotton to form a thick string with a loop on one end. The loop is a contrasting color to the rest of the Clutchy, enabling you to see it easier in low-light settings. There are no sharp metal or plastic pieces that can pinch or break apart. The Clutchy can attach ANY toy, natural wood block teether, or pacifier with a closed ring (with an internal diameter larger than 1/2") to teething rings, strollers, carseats, etc. You could even loop it through a cloth tag on baby's favorite lovey. Besides using the Clutchy to attach toys, you can also use them to attach teething rings to carseats or strollers. The possibilities are endless!

Here's how it works:
1. Thread Clutchy through ring on toy and through teething ring (or what you want the toy to attach to).

2. Insert end of Clutchy through loop. Pull end so you have a long tail.

3. Tie a single knot in Clutchy tail--it will stretch a bit if you need more length--the knot will be too big to fit through the Clutchy loop. The nubby nature of the yarn prevents the knot from slipping, yet the knot can be easily undone by an adult.

Where are you from? Tell us about yourself!

Well, I am a newly married housewife (got married last October), who had been living in the Pittsburgh area for several years. Last year, we bought a house in a small town called Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and shortly after the wedding, we realized the commute to a job in Pittsburgh was just too much. We decided that it would be better for me to leave my job, and allow us some time to settle into married life. I spend my days taking care of our home, our dog Dexter, and our cat Nora. I also write 3 blogs, one about being a small town wife, one about the pets, and one on book reviews. In my spare time, I love to cook and try new recipes out on my Hubby. And of course, I spend a lot of time crafting!

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?
I started making frames as sort of a hobby. Through blogging, I would see these wonderful things people would make, and it would make me want to start flexing my crafting muscles again. So I started making the frames, and found it really relaxing, and a wonderful creative outlet. Some of my friends, along with my Hubby, started encouraging me to try to sell the frames, but I was worried no one would be interested. I also made some plaques for a few of my friends with kids, using pictures of the children, and they were such a hit. Eventually someone asked me if they could have me make one for one of their friends, and they would buy it. At that point, I decided it was time to open shop. I thought a while about what to name the shop, and wanted to emphasize that I specialize in frames. Suddenly "A Frame of Mind" just came to me, and I thought it sounded nice and pleasant. It also emphasizes the fact that a lot of my frames have a theme to them, about a specific feeling, emotion, activity, place, or event.

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?
I would absolutely love to learn to paint pictures. I probably could get away with doing some abstract paintings, but I really admire people who can paint portraits or landscapes. I love the idea of capturing that moment or image forever, using my hands and my mind's eye.

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
My whole life, I have tried to pursue things of beauty, love, and knowledge. It is this pursuit that really inspires a lot of my items. I also love creating things that are child themed, because I really love children, and how they remind us all to be a little more childlike in our approach to life.

Cloth menstrual pads are better for the environment, easy on the pocket book, and so much more comfortable than paper and plastic pads. No more sweaty, itchy, rashy, chafing paper and plastic pads!

Reusable menstrual products are better for the planet - but they are also much more comfortable for you. I believe in saving the planet, but let's face it, I would not use cloth menstrual pads if they were uncomfortable. I am more of a "Save the Planet but I need a daily hot shower" sort of environmentalist. I became a cloth convert from the very first time I tried them. Why? Because cloth menstrual pads are so comfortable!

Pearls and Petals, my third shop, came about when I wanted a place to combine my love for flowers and jewelry. However after just a few months, I realized that three shops was way more work than I could handle! So once this shop sells out I will step away for a bit to focus on the other 2 shops. At Pearls and Petals I really love the Violet Pearls and Petals necklace, and the Satin Flower Sash! They are all really unique pieces that I am quite proud of!

How did you come up with your Shop Name?
I came up with the name for my second shop, It's a 10, because I wanted a name that was easy to remember and descriptive of the shop. Everything in this shop is $10 or less, and is the highest quality - what more could you ask for? It's a 10!

Why did you start your business?

I am from the good old midwest - Indiana to be precise. I have lived here my whole life, and while we dream about moving to Maui, it looks like we'll be staying put for a little while longer.

Bella Regali, my first shop, means "beautiful gift" in Italian. I thought the name was perfect. Plus it doesn't hurt that Bella is also our daughter's name!

Review: Gentle Cycle Pads

I love visitors, I'm a SAHM so visitors are fun to have!

However, the one visitor that I wish would go away is that monthly visitor you get, good 'ol Auntie Flow.

That's the one thing I loved about being pregnant, no more visits from her. Now that I'm pretty sure I'm done having kids, Auntie Flow comes whenever she wants. I have mirena, but that doesn't stop her from visiting....She comes pretty regularly. It gets expensive buying necessary items to keep her where she belongs. If ya know what I mean!

Cindy from GentleCyclePads contacted me and asked me review her Cloth Pads.

I've seen them around and was always curious about them so I was all for it!

"These pads are AOI(all in one)design, approximately 7 inches long, with wings that fold to snap under the panty. They are perfect for teens, light and medium days, or with a cup or tampon.

Pads are handmade and have slight variations that do not affect the quality. I make them with 100%flannel cotton, and two layers of fleece(5 layers total)These are great for those with sensitive skin and are enviromentally friendly. All pads are new and have been prewashed. "

So what did I think?

I love the different patterns she has to chose from. They make Auntie Flow's visit fashionable! I thought they were way more comfortable than the pads you buy at the store! I hardly noticed they were there! I tried the ones pictured above. They snap on the underside of your underwear and don't move! There were no leakages. They work better than bought pads for the fact that they are more comfortable, you're saving money and the environment!

They are easy to clean and take care of:

- Rinse until water runs clear.

- Treat any stains

- Hand wash or machine wash in cold water

- Line or Tumble Dry

(do NOT use fabric softener)

That's it!!

I've been looking more and more into saving more money and spending less (cloth pads, cloth diapers, etc...). These cloth menstrual pads are the way to go!

Think about the savings:

If you have an average flow, you likely spend about $10 a month on disposable menstrual products. Using cloth pads will save you money and time. You will need from 6-24 pads in your stash, depending on your flow. Most women use 8-12 pads at a cost of about $120. With proper care, cloth pads will last from 3-7 years or more.

Average cost of 7 years worth of cloth pads: $60-240 dollars

Cost of 7 years of disposables at an average of $10 per month: $840

Savings of $720 average, or about $100 per year.

Cost of 30 years worth of cloth pads: $240-1,000

Cost of 30 years of disposables: $3,600

These savings can be much higher if, like me, you have a heavier than average flow or if you use panty liners daily. The savings for incontinence users are often much higher. I don't know about you, but I can think of lots of things I'd rather do with my money!

Using cloth menstrual pads will lessen your contribution to the landfill!

If your children like to play computer games online than Zoodles is a website you need to check out. The web browser is free but they have a premium site that is full of features that will keep your kids safe online.

Zoodles creates a profile for each of your children and pulls age appropriate games into one location.

They are categorized by learning elements such as reading, math, and cognitive development.

They have a general directory of games that show all the games inside the browser.

I am from a small mountain town in Idaho. When I was younger, I used to think it was really boring here, but I am beginning to really appreciate just how lucky I am. I live where other people go to vacation! I really enjoy getting outside and enjoying the beautiful world I live in-hiking, sailing, or even huckleberry picking. I have lived here all of my life (only 18 years so far), but I am preparing to move to Calgary, Alberta for half of the year each year to attend Alberta College of Art and Design this fall. I have always been a crafter. Whether it was finger-painting the basement wall as a toddler to creating a huge installation in town last fall, my passion is definitely creating. When deciding what I wanted to do with my future the last couple of years, I decided that I should follow my love; I make art in my spare time, I do it to relax. I might as well make my living off of doing what I love.

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?

My shop name, Intensify, is vague on purpose. It makes the viewer ask a question: "What is being intensified? Why should I intensify it?" My answer: "There is always room in life to make it richer, more vibrant, more intense." I don't only mean to intensify other peoples' lives with the products I sell, but I mean to intensify my own life by giving myself the chance to make these pieces of art.

I started my business as a way to support my art and my education. I know it won't totally pay for college or my art supplies, but I'll take any help I can get! If I can support myself in any way, I am that much closer to getting an education, that much more educated in a new technique. I enjoy creating. I enjoy the process of making things for my shop.

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?

I would love to learn SO many other crafts/arts! That is why I will be attending ACAD in the fall-to enrich myself. I feel like a sponge-ready to soak up all sorts of new information and education. I especially am looking forward to education in glassblowing. I make lampwork beads and love working with hot glass, especially how soft and smooth it is. Working with my torch and glass is probably the best way to de-stress myself, so I think I will really enjoy working with it on a much larger scale.

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?

One of my favorite quotes is:
“The artist is a receptacle for the emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web.” -Pablo Picasso. This really encompasses my inspiration: everything! I am inspired by nature, but other artists, by urban forms, by so many things! I only wish I had more time in the day to create so I could create all of my ideas. I go on phases, so I'll be really interested in painting one week, polymer clay another...

Right now, I am really interested in making statement necklaces. They're just so much fun!

I love makeup!
I have been wearing makeup since my Mom let me! Okay...maybe I wore it before she let me. When I was younger, if I were to go out of the house, I would always be wearing my trusty eyeliner. C'mon, I know a lot of you did! Now with 3 kids I don't know what makeup is....okay, that's not really true, but I didn't wear it a whole lot. I didn't really wear it until I reviewed Orglamix makeup.

I love her makeup. I've tried a lot of mineral makeup and it hasn't really stayed on and wasn't really that vibrant. Orglamix make-up is both! It stays on all day and is bright! I love it! The foundation doesn't leave my face dry or oily. (Which I have problems with.) I don't break out from it because there's no artifical ingredients!

I know when I think of soap, I think itchy, dry, scaly skin afterwards. My dad has very dry skin. I think a lot of African American people have dry skin, even though I'm mixed, I got my dad's dry skin gene...not exactly what anyone wants!

So when Melissa approached me about being featured I was all for it. I love featuring Etsy shops and I had openings!

Sure, even though bars of soap and me don't mix, but I was excited to try it. I never tried handmade soap before.

I tried it for the first time the day I got it. I was amazed! I usually have to put lotion on my body right after I get out of the shower with soap and body wash because my legs get ashy right after I dry off. So I tried the soap and my legs weren't dry right after the shower! In fact, I didn't put lotion on at all and my legs weren't itchy, scaly, or dry!

Yeah...I'm never ~~going back~~.

Where are you from? Tell us about yourself!

My name is Melissa and I am from Red Wing, Minnesota. I live with my husband of almost 2 years John (August 8th is our 2 year anniversary, and my 13 year old son, Curtiss.

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?
I renamed my business Tie Dye Bathworks after going through 2 previous names. I like the way the name allows me to use bright colors in labeling and still form a cohesive brand. I love the way tie dye looks, and it allows me to gain a web presence because I am the only one using "Tie Dye" in my bath products company.

I originally started my business in an effort to help my sister who is allergic to almost everything! She suffers from eczema which makes it very difficult for her to find skin care products that will not make her break out. While doing research to find products that she could use, I found several recipes for soap which I found interesting and decided to try. From there, my business took off. I started to tweak the recipes and do extensive research on ingredients to find the best ingredients to use in my products. I started out at Farmer's Market, then craft sales, now 3 years later, I am on Etsy and really enjoying the new selling venue.

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?
I would love to learn how to knit. I have crocheted for years but I have always been fascinated by knitting. I would also like to learn how to better use my sewing machine that has been sitting in the corner for a year now:)

What/who motivates/inspires you to create your items? What is your favorite item in your shop and why?
While my sister originally inspired me to start making soap and lotions, I now find inspiration just about everywhere! I am inspired by the scent of the flowers in the spring, as well as pictures of swirls of color....and everything in between.
My favorite item in my shop is the Lemon Lime Sugar Scrub! I love the scent of the Lemon and Lime essential oils, and the way it does all 3 major components of skin care: clean, exfoliate, and moisturize.

Book Review: Get Real

My Review: When I first got approached to review this book, she told me that it was targeted towards 12 year olds & up, I thought how in depth could this book get? I couldn't believe how REAL the author got! I was truly amazed! It was easy to read and put in simple terms for younger children, but not sugar coated so they wouldn't get confused. It definitely gave me a new perspective of our economy!

There were a few things that jumped out at me when I read this book:

What you get when you order from a fast food place: They have to put chicken flavor in their chicken nuggets! I never knew that...I can't even pronounce half the ingredients they put in chicken nuggets...GROSS! All because they are cheap and feed their chickens corn so it alters the taste of chicken.
We spend money on ridiculous things: For every one head of lettuce the United States exports to Mexico, it imports one head of lettuce from...Mexico.
We buy cheap chocolate/food because our economy sucks right now, but then we're supporting sweatshops because they pay their workers hardly nothing or nothing at all to provide us with that.

This book really makes you think about what you spend your money on. It gives you ideas on how to go greener. If every one of us could just go greener soon more people will start and it sounds cliche, but The World will be a better place, have a better environment for our children, your children's child(ren).

I currently live in Sun Prairie, WI which is a suburb of Madison, WI. We used to live in Eau Claire, WI before moving here 4 years ago. I am a stay-at-home mom to two boys ages 11 year and 1 year. They keep me very busy! But it is a lot of fun.

How did you come up with your Shop Name? Why did you start your business?
I came up with my shop name "Your Blissful Day" when I started thinking about becoming a Wedding and Event Planner. Blissful mean extremely happy; full of joy and that is how I want people to feel about their special day.

Clothesline Baby Shower Invitation

I started my business after I started helping plan my wedding and other people's special events/weddings. I loved decorating and planning the events the most and I was getting a lot of compliments on my decorations I made. I joined a wedding and event planning company in Madison and they wanted to use my decorations as well, which really gave me the motivation to start selling my decorations.

If you had time to learn any other craft/art….what would it be?
If I could learn any other craft I would want to learn how to draw or paint. I am so amazed at other artists who can draw or paint pictures that look so real. I absolutely get enamored with their work.

My family and friends are who inspire me to create my party supplies. Some of my ideas for party supplies came from doing parties for them. I like to think of themes that are fun and original.

I think right now my favorite item in my shop is my clothesline banner because that came from a clothesline themed baby shower that I helped host/decorate for my sister and step-sister. I received a lot of compliments on it and it was what made me think of doing a clothesline baby shower theme for them.

Open House

So this Sunday is our open house for the house we're selling. We need to get out of this house. We don't mean to dump this problem on the next home owner, but we can't afford it.

Depending how the open house goes, we're going to lower the price again to $109,900

Putz was up on the roof trying to fix it. This has never happened before....

Thank God, it's not big but a hole in the roof?!

I had been raining hard and all day yesterday....Grrr!

Hopefully Putz can fix it without us having to reshingle the whole roof to prepare us for the winter!

...how sorry I am...

One of my co-workers, that I've known for 3 years has lost her baby boy who was 31weeks gestation. She has to go in today to deliver her stillborn son, Greyson....

I cannot imagine, fathom what she is going through.

She was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia a couple weeks ago and was on strict bedrest this week until baby Greyson was born. She was going in every week to get her blood pressure taken and check his heartbeat. Monday, she went in and her blood pressure was down, but they couldn't find the baby's heartbeat so they had her go in for an ultrasound. When they couldn't detect the heartbeat, they took her to another ultrasound tech who specializes in more in-depth ultrasounds. The baby wasn't moving, the heart wasn't beating...

It is so unbelieveably sad.

I wish I could say something to her to make her feel better, but I know I can't. I know there's nothing to say right now that will make her feel better. She lost her baby boy. She never got a chance to meet him.

I know this happens, but I never thought this would happen to someone close to me....

I am so sorry for anyone that has gone through this! So sorry.....

So, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that she finds the strength to get through this eventually. I know this will take a lot of time to get through, but prayer is a powerful thing!
